Welcome to the mess
Welcome to the mess.
Sometime in my teens I read a quote about how if you saw me succeed in public it was because I had failed a thousand times in private.
That became my life motto.
I was excellent at my homework.
I aced my exams.
I always had the answer.
Not because I was any smarter.
Rather I believed I was dumber.
There were those who didn’t do what I had to do and still got half my success.
They didn’t see me up at 6am every morning to get a 45 min study session in before getting ready for school.
Or the strict schedule I had every afternoon.
The pile of exams papers I practiced on.
If you see me succeed in public it’s because I’ve failed a thousand times in private.
